Working & Employed Individuals

Healthy Living Residential Program - Santa Clarita, CA | (661) 536-5562

You’ve Built Something Worth Protecting. So Have We.

You go to work. You meet your deadlines. You show up for your team, your clients, your family and on the surface, you’re holding it all together. But behind closed doors, the drinking has become nightly. The pills have become necessary just to get through the day. The substance you started using to manage stress has quietly become the thing you can’t function without. And the hardest part? You can’t afford to fall apart. You have a career. Responsibilities. A reputation you’ve worked years to build.

If this sounds familiar, you are not alone and you are exactly who Healthy Living Residential Program in Santa Clarita was built to help.

The fear of losing your job is one of the most common reasons working adults delay seeking treatment for alcohol or drug addiction. We hear it constantly: “I can’t take a month off.” “My boss will find out.” “What will happen to my income?” These are real, valid concerns and at Healthy Living, we take them seriously. Our program is specifically designed to help employed individuals access the residential detox and treatment they need without sacrificing the career, income, and professional identity they’ve worked so hard to achieve.

Addiction Doesn’t Wait for a Good Time

The reality of substance use disorder is that it doesn’t pause for a convenient window on your calendar. It escalates. It starts affecting your performance, your relationships with colleagues, your ability to focus, and your physical health slowly at first, then all at once. Many of the working professionals who come through our doors in the Santa Clarita and greater Los Angeles area waited far longer than they should have because they were convinced they could manage it on their own. The truth is that addiction is a medical condition, not a willpower problem and the sooner it’s treated, the better the outcomes are for every area of your life, including your career.

The good news is that getting help doesn’t have to mean blowing up your professional life. With the right program, the right planning, and the right support in place, you can step away for 30 days, get the treatment you need, and return to work stronger, clearer, and more capable than you’ve been in years.

How Healthy Living Supports Working Individuals

A 30-Day Program That’s Structured, Not Open-Ended

Our residential program is a defined 30-day commitment. That clarity matters for employed individuals. You’re not entering an open-ended process with no timeline, you’re enrolling in a structured, daily clinical program with a clear beginning, middle, and end. From the first morning of medical detox through your final week of residential treatment and aftercare planning, every day has a purpose. Our clinical team led by board-certified physicians and licensed therapists creates a personalized treatment plan from day one, so your time in our care is focused, efficient, and effective.

Technology Access After Five Days

We know staying completely disconnected from work for 30 days is unrealistic for many of our clients. That’s why Healthy Living allows clients access to personal technology phones, laptops, tablets beginning on day five of their stay. The first several days are reserved for medical detox and clinical stabilization, a period where full focus on your physical and mental wellbeing is essential. After that, you’ll have the ability to check emails, stay connected to your team, and manage any urgent work matters during designated free time. Recovery and professional responsibility don’t have to be mutually exclusive at our facility.

FMLA, State Disability & Leave of Absence Navigation

One of the biggest logistical barriers for working individuals seeking residential treatment is figuring out how to protect their job and income while they’re away. At Healthy Living, our admissions and clinical team is experienced in helping clients navigate this process with confidence.

The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) entitles eligible employees at qualifying companies to up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave per year for qualifying medical conditions which includes substance use disorder treatment at a licensed residential facility. California State Disability Insurance (SDI) may provide partial wage replacement during your time in treatment, often covering 60–70% of your weekly wages. Many employers also offer personal Leave of Absence (LOA) policies that can complement these protections. We help clients understand what they’re entitled to, prepare the documentation needed, and coordinate with HR departments and insurance providers so that the administrative burden doesn’t fall entirely on you during what is already a demanding time.

Your job is protected by law. Your income may be partially maintained. And your privacy is legally safeguarded under HIPAA. Your employer does not have the right to know the specific nature of your medical leave.

Confidential, Private, and Discreet Care

Privacy is a top priority at Healthy Living. Our 12-bed residential facility in Santa Clarita operates with the intimacy and discretion of a private medical setting. We are not a large institutional campus. There are no long hallways of strangers. There is no community billboard announcing your presence. What happens within our walls is protected by HIPAA and our staff treats every client’s personal and medical information with the utmost confidentiality. Many of our clients are business owners, executives, healthcare professionals, educators, and other high-functioning individuals in the Los Angeles area who require absolute discretion. We deliver it, without exception.

The Cost of Not Getting Help Is Greater Than You Think

It’s easy to focus on the risks of going to treatment the month away, the conversations with HR, the awkward explanations. But consider the cost of not going. Addiction in the workplace compounds over time. Productivity declines. Mistakes increase. Relationships with colleagues and supervisors erode. Physical health deteriorates. Many working professionals eventually find themselves facing something far worse than a planned 30-day leave: a termination, a DUI, a medical crisis, or a complete professional and personal collapse. A month of structured residential treatment at Healthy Living is not a career interruption; it is a career-saving, life-saving decision.

Our clients return to work with more clarity, more emotional resilience, better sleep, improved focus, and a healthier relationship with stress than they’ve had in years. Recovery doesn’t just save your life. For working individuals, it often saves and in many cases significantly improves your professional performance and career trajectory.

What to Expect When You Arrive

From the moment you call our admissions line, we begin working to make the transition into treatment as smooth as possible. Our admissions coordinators will verify your insurance benefits, walk you through what to expect, and help you think through the FMLA or leave process before you ever set foot in the door. Once you arrive at our Santa Clarita facility, you’ll receive a comprehensive medical and psychiatric evaluation by our physician. A personalized detox and treatment plan is built specifically for you.

Your days will be filled with morning reflections, daily medication administration overseen by our Licensed Vocational Nurses, clinical group therapy, individual counseling, experiential therapies, and evening AA/NA meetings all designed to build the skills, self-awareness, and support network that make recovery sustainable long after you leave. And when day 30 arrives, our team provides thorough aftercare planning connecting you with outpatient services, sober living options, and community support resources throughout the Santa Clarita and Los Angeles area so that the work you’ve done doesn’t stop when you walk out the door.
