Skypoint Vein is a vein treatment center in Schaumburg, IL that is dedicated to your health and comfort. We offer a variety of different treatments that treat spider and varicose veins. When you come in for a consultation, we can help you determine which treatment or procedure will be best for you and your situation.
We want you to feel comfortable with the procedure, so we will do our absolute best to keep you informed about the procedure and answer any questions you may have. It is important to be as honest as possible during your consultation so that we can safely determine which procedure will be the most effective. Remember that our number one priority is you and your safety.
What types of procedures does Skypoint Vein offer?
We offer Venclose, which works by introducing a catheter into the unhealthy vein. The catheter will then use heat to shrink and close the unhealthy vein. The blood that was in the unhealthy veins will then flow to nearby, healthier veins.
We offer radiofrequency thermal ablation, also called ClosureFast, that also uses heat to close unhealthy veins. Controlled heat through radiofrequency energy contracts the collagen within the vein walls, which causes these veins to collapse and seal. The blood that was inside those unhealthy veins will then automatically flow to other, healthier veins. This procedure takes about 45 minutes to one hour.
We also offer Venaseal, which works by delivering a medical adhesive through a catheter to the unhealthy veins in order to close them. This procedure will use a local anesthetic to numb the area before sending a catheter into the vein site.
Another procedure we offer is Endovenous Laser Ablation, which requires a small, thin catheter to be inserted into the vein. A laser at the tip of the catheter will heat up and destroy the vein. This procedure will only take about 45 minutes and requires local anesthesia. Recovery time is very minimal, and relief from vein pain is instant.
We offer Varithena, or Chemical Vein Ablation, which uses injectable foam to treat veins. This procedure takes about one hour, and the patient can continue their routine on the same day.
The last procedure we offer is sclerotherapy, which works by injecting a chemical called sclerosant into the unhealthy veins. This procedure takes anywhere from five to thirty minutes. Time depends on the number of veins that are treated. This procedure is usually done with the guidance of ultrasound to make sure the injection is being placed in the right areas.
How will I know which procedure is right for me?
When you come in for a consultation, we will be able to determine which procedure will work best for you and your situation. We will further inform you of the different procedures to see with which one you are most comfortable. There are certain limitations with specific procedures, and some people will not be able to undergo some procedures depending on health or if you are pregnant.
